DELIVERABLES

HERKYS LOOP

Modern mixed use environments separate living, working, wellness, and social spaces into disconnected zones, creating friction in daily routines and breaking the natural flow of movement. These environments are often static and fail to respond to time based behaviors, resulting in inefficient navigation and disjointed user experiences.

Herky’s Loop addresses this by introducing a continuous loop system that unifies these functions into a single, connected experience. Instead of isolated zones, the project creates a seamless flow where users can move intuitively between spaces throughout the day. By integrating spatial design with UX thinking and adapting to daily rhythms, Herky’s Loop transforms the environment into a responsive system that supports how people naturally live, work, and interact.

PROCESS

PROCESS

The project began with defining user behaviors through proto personas, focusing on how people move, work, and transition throughout a full day rather than who they are demographically. From there, a comparative assessment of mixed use environments and lifestyle brands helped identify gaps in continuity between spaces. A strategy workshop translated these insights into a unified system centered on flow, access, and time based interaction. Design development focused on mapping the loop as both circulation and interface, supported by a hierarchy of touchpoints including wayfinding, lighting, and digital awareness. Iterations explored how materials, spatial cues, and visual language could guide users intuitively, while maintaining a minimal and high end aesthetic. Supporting elements like signage, merchandise, and access tiers were refined to extend the system beyond navigation into a full brand experience.

SOLUTION

SOLUTION

Herky’s Loop resolves the fragmentation of traditional mixed use spaces by creating a continuous, living system where architecture and experience operate as one. The loop becomes both a physical path and an organizing principle, guiding users seamlessly through work, wellness, living, and culture across a 24 hour cycle. Integrated lighting and signage function as adaptive navigation tools, reinforcing movement and time of day shifts without disrupting the environment. The final system delivers a cohesive and intuitive experience that feels effortless to navigate, while reinforcing a sense of luxury, rhythm, and connection.
